September/October

Just got gallery representation at Eye On Art ( eyeonartgallery.blogspot.com ) gallery in Carmel, IN. Very nice gallery owner, Jerry Points. He's got a very nice space on a prime location on Main St. in the Carmel Arts District. In my opinion it's the best gallery spot in Indiana right now. The gallery is very nicely done as well, and has what seems to be a solid stable of artists. It opens this weekend... 9/26-27, and I'm glad to be on board!

Right now I'm finishing a large scale piece in my studio, an architectural abstraction, and as soon as I've finished with that I'd like to begin some small scale pedestal pieces in forged and fabricated steel and dyed birch sheet. These will be models for public work, but should also stand alone as more formal sculptural work. I think I'm ready for a break of sorts, and want to just experiment with materials, surfaces, and forms. No conceptually driven work for the time being.

Recent Activity

MilHR, 2010.

Some kind of connection between my childhood television indoctrination, and myself at 20 years old.

H.R. Puf n stuf is a conduit to some sort of negative force. One of the mayor's police becomes one of my tank crewmates.

I've been a very busy person as of late. I'm wrapping up another Masters degree, this time an MAT in Art Education at the University of Indianapolis. In addition, I'm teaching in Marion, while living in Indianapolis. So, this year I've been focused on digital work, and learning the whole Adobe CS4 platform. I'm impressed with the sound/video/image capabilities of the Adobe software. Teaching visual communication has really helped propel my skills with PhotoShop. You always learn more from teaching than you ever could from taking a class!

Best wishes to Christine, Addie, Owen, Aiden, and our whole extended family! I love you all!
