November/December 2010

Had a great First Friday showing at Eye on Art Gallery in Carmel, and met several interesting folks! The gallery was packed, and it was a really great atmosphere.

I've been wrapping up a piece for quite a while now, and found myself in a sort of frozen state with this piece. I should have some photos to share by the end of December of my new work. As soon as I am happy with this piece, I'll begin a series of smaller work which will act as macquettes for me, but are really just small scale pedestal pieces. I'm really excited about this, and have been experimenting with some new materials. This should really be a mix of old and new for me, and a shift toward more formal experimentation.

In other news... I think I've found a larger studio! It is inside an older industrial building downtown, and is really affordable. I think I'll be at 100% capability in this new space. I'm waiting to hear back from the owner with regard to an improvements list I had submitted. I hope I can move in without having to do all the upgrades and improvements myself. I AM SO EXCITED! I can't believe how nice this space is, and I'll share photos when the space is cleaned up and ready. This studio space will help facilitate big changes in my artwork!

Can't wait for Thanksgiving and Christmas! My father should be coming around the middle of December, and I love this time of year.

Almost forgot! The Indiana State Museum is accepting one of my pieces into its permanent collection, which I have already delivered. I can't wait to see my work at the State Museum! It will be about a year before it is included in an exhibition there, but will spend the rest of it's life down in their vault. Sort of like the Arc in the Indiana Jones movie. Oh, this is my brother...
